COMELEC Proclaims Winning Senators

The Commission on Election proclaimed the 12 winning Senators of the recently held national election. Nine Senators were initially proclaimed on Saturday, May 15, 2010 while the last 3 were proclaimed earlier today.

Of the 12 Senators, 6 were re-electionists, 4 are returning senators and 2 are new to the senate who were both former congressmen. The complete list of the 12 winning senators are (according to vote ranking):

3. DEFENSOR SANTIAGO, Miriam P. (Nacionalista)
4. DRILON, Franklin M. (Liberal)
5. ENRILE, Juan Ponce -.(PMP)
6. CAYETANO, Pilar Juliana S. (Nacionalista)
7. MARCOS, Ferdinand, Jr. R. (KBL – Nacionalista)
8. RECTO, Ralph G. (Liberal)
9. SOTTO , Vicente III C. (NPC)
10. OSMEÑA, Sergio III D. (Liberal)
11. LAPID, Manuel M. (LAKAS-KAMPI)
12. GUINGONA , Teofisto III D. (Liberal)

These senators will serve for a fixed term of 6 years in the 15th congress.
