Noynoy Aquino still tops SWS Presidential survey
Senator and presidential aspirant Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aguino III still tops the presidential race according to the survey conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS) from December 27 to 28 last year.
Aquino tops all the 5 survey scenarios that was conducted during the test where the respondent’s were asked, “Sa mga sumusunod na pangalan sa listahang ito, sino po ang malamang ninyong iboboto bilang PRESIDENTE ng Pilipinas, kung ang eleksyon ay gaganapin ngayon?” (Among the names found on this list, who will you probably vote for as PRESIDENT of the Philippines, if elections were held now?).
On the first scenario where names of 7 aspirants were included in the choices excluding former president Joseph Estrada, Noynoy got 49%, Manny Villar on second place with 38%, Gibo Teodoro with 6%, Bro. Eddie Villanueva with 2%, Gordon and Jamby Madrigal bot has 1% and JC Delos Reyes got 0.3% while 3% of the respondents were undecided.
Scenario 2 also includes 7 aspirants minus former Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Aquino got 45%, Villar 35%, Estrada 14%, Gordon 2%, Villanueva 2%, Madrigal 1% and Delos Reyes 0.4% with 1% undecided.
The third scenario only includes 3 names (Aquino, Villar and Teodoro), Aquino got 50%, Villar 40%, Teodoro 7% and 3% undecided.
Fourth scenario also included 3 names (Aquino, Villar and Estrada), Aquino with 47%, Villar 37%, Estrada 14% with 2% were undecided.
The fifth and final scenario was a one-on-one battle between Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar, Aquino got 52% while Villar had 44% with 4% were undecided. Comparing to the same survey scenario conducted on October 1 to 4 2009 where Noynoy got 65% against Villar’s 28% and 6% were undecided, it is showing that Villar is inching closer to Aquino in the presidential race.
The survey was commissioned by San Juan Representative Ronaldo Zamora with 2,100 respondents, with an error margin of ±2.2 percent and using face-to-face interview.
